Yoga For Eyes To Improve Eyesight | Simple  Eye exercises for vision improvement

  1. Up – Down Eye Rotation

It is always good to keep a movement in your eyes rolling up &down and flapping the eyelids.

How to perform

  • Sit down on the floor with the legs wide stretched
  • Stretch out the body straight, along with setting up the head and spine upright
  • Take your right hand and close the fist of the same, by allowing it to rest on the right knee where the thumb faces the ceiling.
  • Keeping the neck still and eyes straight looked up to the straight by gazing at a fixed pointin front
  • Breathing – exhale deeply, eyes facing the ceiling. Leave the head unmoved, but eyeballs are to be moved. By inhaling get back to the normal start position
  • As a next step, take a deep inhalation and gaze towards the floor, and repeat the same eye rolling all over again. Finally, with a deep exhalation get back to normal position again.
  • Repeat the same thing by putting out the left thumb (15 times altogether)
  1. Sideways eye rotation

The sideways eye movement is good for people with myopia and hypermetropia.

How to perform

  • Sit on the yoga mat with a comfortable posture long with your legs crossed (Sukasana) or Padmasana, where the spine and headset upright
  • And the arms outstretched with the fist closed, thumbs facing ceiling (Lingam Mudra)
  • Now it’s time to bring up the hands in front of your face, this is to be in such a way they are spaced b/w the eyebrows.
  • Now move your hands to the right side, at the same time roll your eyes in the same movement. Keep in mind that the head is not moved (Only eyes need to move)
  • As a last step bring your hands back to the gap between eyebrows
  • Make a repetition on left-hand side again
  • Inhalation of breath is to be done while the hands are in b/w the eyebrows
  • Exhale while eyes are moved sideways and inhale while eyes come back
  • Sustain in the posture for 10sec while the eyes are closed and repair this for 10 – 15 times

  1. Clockwise and Anti-clockwise eye rotation

 How to perform

  • Sit on the yoga mat with legs crossed (Sukasana) or in Padmasana, while keeping the spine and head upright and the hands rested on the knees in yoga mudra.
  • Out of these, the left arm is to be rested onto the left knee, next the right fist is to be taken above the right knee as the thumb faces ceiling (Elbows straight)
  • By maintaining a still posture, the face and eyes are to be concentrated on the thumb
  • By putting the elbows straight and thumbs rolling, the eyes are to be rotated in clockwise slowly, breath is to be taken in, as the thumb is upward and exhaled while completing the circle.
  • Repeat the same process in an anticlockwise direction.
  • Perform the same process by placing right palm on right knee, and repeat the same process.
  • This asana is to be performed on the either sides for 15 times.
  1. Shavasana (complete relaxing posture)

Once all the exercises come to an end the body is to be relaxed in corpse pose which is the ideal posture.

How to perform

  • Lie straight down on the spine, where legs are stretched out straight and both the arms stretched out which are to be placed on the side of the body
  • Close your eyes while relaxing all the body parts
  • Regulate your breathing patterns with the deep inhalation and exhalation, which allows the body to relax completely.
  1. Palming (eye warming)

The easiest method to relax eyes is a palming method. Here, the asana can be performed anywhere irrespective of place and time.

How to perform

  • Sit in a place you are comfortable in, rub your palms vigorously till you feel the heat radiating from them
  • As a final step place your palm on your eyes and feel the warmth on your eyes which are spreading.

This exercise helps in improving the blood circulation which can be performed frequently that helps get relief from tiredness and bulges.

Regular practice of the above-mentioned yoga for eyes (exercises) will help in the outcome of good results. Along with these exercises, a proper balanced diet and rest in life are very much important at all times.
